Here is the first named storm for 2006, Alberto.

 

Our first tropical system of 2006 has formed and may be named Alberto later on today. TD 1 is not expected to reach hurricane status. The predictions have the storm curve northeast in the Gulf and hit somewhere in Central Florida. South Florida is expecting stronger than normal breezes and some locally heavy rainfall. Rainfall that is much needed across the state of Florida. We are already seeing the outer rainbands associated with TD 1 on the radar.

We predicted the first storm would form on June 8th (as it did last year) so we weren't off by much. It seems like the 2005 season just ended and here we go again.

Today we celebrated 8 years together and 6 years of married bliss. Well, 99% of the time. I have to say that I got extremely lucky when I made the choice to marry Stephen. He is my best friend, my lover, my soulmate and I couldn't live without him. Ok, enough of the mushy stuff. To celebrate we went out to the Hard Rock and got our very first tattoos! What fun! I am trying to decide what my next one will be. Here's to us and many more years of happiness!
